Closing Night: Backstage After the Show (Felicity and Galad)
Galadari was quite pleased with himself. He was enjoying the accolades of the other actors backstage who gushed about his performance and, when the play cast ventured out with the rest of the audience, the praise only grew. In fact, no one had anything bad to say at all. Of course they didn't. He doubted they'd even noticed Valentin's absence.
Poor boy was probably still bent over the toilet sick from the garlic.
But then Galad's eyes found Felicity's, as they often did in a crowd, and he knew he was going to have to answer for what he'd done. He should have known she was unhappy with him with the way she blocked the stage kiss. Even when it was in character, for a role, she would not give him the satisfaction of the kiss. It bothered him more than he cared to admit. What was the point in doing all of this, then? The best laid plans...
Resigned to his fate, Galad broke free from his admirers and followed Felicity backstage where they had some more privacy. He spoke first, giving one of his classic bright smiles and reached to take her hand. "Dearest, you were the brightest star of the show."
