One would think that as Neculai came to Imani she was calm down, but she didn't. If anything she cried harder when he joined her in the snow and took her into his arms. Her own went around him and she reached up, hands gripping at the back of Neculai's shirt as she cried into his shoulder. The relief she felt intensifying her emotions and making her cry harder.
It would be alright. He didn't leave her sitting in the night again. He stayed this time. No monsters came to tear him away either, and she held on tighter to doubly make sure. The dark waters calming even as she continued to cry.
"No matter what happens, you can't leave me. Not every. I won't leave you either. Good choices, bad choices, painful and hard. I..." Imani said, her voice cracking and breaking as she spoke. "I want to be your moon. Your light in the dark. Please? Please can I be your moon? And figure everything out together?" All questions asked while still clinging to him, so afraid to let him go as if he'd slip away.
