Well that wasn't what he wanted to hear. Blake frowned. If she was ready to accept a failing grade, he had very little leverage left to get the truth out of her and have some answers. He waited, folding his arms with a firm look. Blake's patience paid off.
Using basic deduction skills, Blake surmised that Bushara was someone Alicia had been dating, an old student who had left. That was perhaps all he needed to know on the matter. This was teenage heartbreak, something Blake was wholly unacquainted with, but something he could at least attempt to relate to for the sake of his student. She had confided in him, of all people, and he wasn't heartless enough to simply walk away.
"I'm sorry to hear that," Blake said a bit stiffly. He paused a moment, uncrossing his arms to seem less closed off, thinking of something to say that would be more encouraging. The teacher became aware of the other students lingering in the halls, watching them, wondering what was going on. He sent them a scowl and they scurried off, only to hide close by to listen in.
"Get your coat and come with me. We're going for a walk." Blake was in the practice of giving orders, not making requests, and so he fully expected Alicia to follow along.
