"It is very nice." Clara agreed, as she lowered her phone and decided to stay for the moment. She tried to take in all the tiny details of his face. Were his eyes the same shade, his nose the right size, his jaw a different shape? It was hard to tell, especially since she was basing it on a portrait instead of a photograph. He definitely looked much more like the man in the portrait, then unlike him. They could almost be twins; it was spooky.
"It's a little cooler here." Clara commented. "The leaves are the same beautiful colours, and they have that same smell." As soon as she said it, she wondered if it sounded strange. Had she noticed the smell of leaves before becoming a were deer? It was hard to remember for certain, when she was distracted by the puzzle in front of her. "I guess other things will be the same too. Pumpkin pie and pumpkins over the place. Halloween decorations." She frowned slightly. She wouldn't be helping her mom with decorating the house or passing out candy this year. She'd miss the games, hayrides, bonfires, and other hometown events. They might have some of that on campus, but it simply wouldn't be the same.
Clara forced those thoughts to the back of her mind. She didn't want to bring down the conversation. "How does 2016 autumn compare to a couple centuries ago? I'm guessing there were no pumpkin spice lattes." She said with a joking smile.
