Kaden felt a surge of anger rise within him when he saw Tanek come out wearing handcuffs. He closed the space between himself and the officers with their charge and growled. "Get those things off of him. He's just a kid. He's not dangerous." Kaden looked between them. "Now!"
The bear's growl was convincing and an officer uncuffed Tanek. "It's standard protocol to--"
"Shove it, Steve." Micah was not having it. He knew these officers from the bar and around town, had drinks with them regularly once a month. But that wouldn't save them from the wrath of a protective werebear when one of his students was involved. Even if Tanek had been arrested for a violent crime, he was out on bail. He'd be an idiot to put up a fight to a bunch of officers letting him out. "Save it for a real criminal, yeah?"
Kaden put his hand at the back of Tanek's neck and guided him away from the officers and from the precinct. While the teacher had not liked seeing the student unjustly handcuffed, he was still none too happy with Tanek. His grip was firm as he walked with him to where Kaden had parked his truck.
