thread: reflecting on week one
WHO. Harper & Josh
WHERE. Outside on the grounds, not terribly far from Kitsune dorms.
WHEN. Afternoon, September 11th
Week one at St. Margaret's had gone by much better than Harper had expected (with the exception of locking herself inside of a closet). She was in the process of switching out her home economics class for elemental power training -- something that sounded like exactly what she needed. Which was what, exactly? Was she actually open to this idea of training and controlling this flaming nightmare she'd found herself in? Ever since she realized that she was the reason that things around her were igniting, Harper just wanted to find the massive red reset button so that she could return things back to the way they were before her accident.
Whether or not she wanted that to include Luke, she wasn't sure. Knowing now that he had kind of used her for whatever reason certainly tainted his image, but Harper's heavy heart had a hard time realizing that he was just a douchebag-end-of-story. A part of her wanted to call him, text him... anything to let him know she thought about him, to ask him if he thought about her. Despite it all, she was proud enough to know that she was nothing more than a "cool kid" to him and not the love of his life.
The bitter thoughts caused the corners of her eyes to sting as she picked at blades of grass outside. She was supposed to be working on her homework, but somehow the warm September air had brought other thoughts to her mind. The last grips of summer were in those breezes, tangling the curls of her hair, begging her to come out and play and forget her woes and her homework. And yet, she was sulking, her red hair shining in the sunlight. She missed Luke. She missed Cadence. She even missed her mom and dad. Never before had she been so far away from home and normal. How did everyone else cope? She thought she heard footsteps approaching and she quickly wiped away the tear that had escaped onto her cheek, hoping the passerby didn't catch her.
