Thread: One More Time WHO: Alex Jiang & Open to any (BYOT) WHEN: Sept. 3, dusk and into the night WHERE: Outside town
Throwing the party at the beach probably wasn't a great idea and Alex had taken it off his list of locations for the party. He wanted to go somewhere they wouldn't be disturbed by local police or the school, so that meant his list was already pretty short.
Alex had gone down to prepare for the party early in the morning. The performers would arrive soon, and he had thrown a lot of his family's own money into setting everything up. There was a moderately large stage where Zedd and Ke$ha would set up. Alex was thrilled to hear that Zedd brought along another performer: Steve Aoki. Alex about pissed himself when he saw the other DJs SnapStory about flying into Maine. Alex didn't think about it until the bus arrived with all the gear and their entourage. He had to recover fast from when his jaw hit the floor. They were personable and nice, and Alex quickly filled his own SnapStory with them as he filled theirs.
By the time evening settled and the students, both new and returning, arrived, they were greeted with one hell of a sight. There were torches guiding their path to the stage but also to other areas too. There was a large television with gaming systems set up to allow multi-player competitions in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. There were prizes for who would win the whole thing, but also who had the best death, best victory, best clutch, and more. Beyond the gaming, there were a desert bar where people could construct their own desert towers or have someone else make it for them.
Other party favors were handed out. Free shirts were given around that had the DJs names printed on them and then "Jiang '16" somewhere as a byline to it.
Anyone that didn't want to stick around could depart as they wished, but there were large bins with goodies for them to take. The bags had fake tattoos, snacks, vouchers for shops in town for free food or discounts on products, sunglasses, and more. Most of them had some sort of small tidbit about Alex running for the election. The sunglasses in particular had dark blue frames but printed on the side said "Jiang '16" in white lettering.
This wasn't a party, it was practically a festival in itself. Alex had spoken to a few local vendors to show up and provide food. They were happy to provide the treats and drinks, and granted what they gave out was perfectly legal, a large number of Kitsune students snuck alcohol in. Alex counted on that and would take a page from the book of Paxton to have his friends hand out potions the next morning to help with any lingering hangovers.
Before the main performers took the stage, Alex tapped on the mic to get everyone's attention. Despite what he discovered only a few hours before, Alex had to act like everything was fine. So he put on a big smile, and once he had everyone's attention, he began, "Welcome! You all should probably know me and if you don't, you must be new. The name's Alex Jiang, and welcome to your last party of the summer. There's plenty to do and we have all night to do it. The most important part of tonight is making memories. Have fun and let loose! When you leave, be sure to grab one of the bags on the way, and follow the torches to the main road. I've hired some Uber drivers from Rockport, and they'll get you back to school safe.
"I want to point out that I'll be running for student council president this year. This party is a taste of what I can organize. I'm not just talking about parties, but other things too. Talent competitions and even a college fair for the experts who are heading out. I'll stop talking because that's not what you're here to see. So let's party everyone, one more time!" When he finished, Zedd started his set with a remix of Daft Punk's "One More Time."
