Thread: The Penitent Dragon is a Myth
WHO: Ryuuko & Blake Hartley
WHEN: The evening of THIS
WHERE: Blake and Ryu's suite in the castle.
Blake made Ryuuko wait and sweat it out the entire day after the letter was delivered. Really, he had received her letter soon after waking up and spotting it on the bedside table. He'd read it, smiling to himself more than a little bit smugly. He could do this parenting thing, Blake thought to himself. This raising a young dragon thing. He could do it and this was proof. Contrite was not a natural draconic trait. Blake could only imagine how galling it must have been for Ryu to write the letter. She knew she was missing out on things happening on the network and he knew that it was driving her crazy to be grounded. Something had to give and, luckily for all of them, she had caved and apologized. Sincere or not, it was done.
Still, he made her wait until that evening when they were having dinner together. Blake sat quietly, cutting his meat and spearing it with his fork to take bites. Ryu's portion was left uncooked, like any kind of dragon's food ought to be, but she was still asked to eat with the utensils he gave her - which were a knife and a fork, but also a pair of chopsticks. The vegetables on the table were primarily eaten by Blake, though the Dragonslayer did try to tempt her with them to at least give it a try. It would help her blend in with the humans, he had told her, and who knew? Maybe she would like them.
"I have chocolate milkshakes for dessert," Blake informed Ryu, glancing up at her. "Now I know you'll like those."
