"No," Paxton said, "the kind of pressure where, should these bounty hunters double cross us and sell us out, we still have some leverage. We're buying shares in their main companies, making sure that we have the ability to... put some weight on them, as it were. We'll be able to lord that over them. It should make them more inclined to cooperate."
Paxton nodded at Davian, hoping he had put him more at ease. He had no other news to deliver, however. Briefly, he squeezed Davian's shoulder. "You need to stop wallowing. Stop burning your room. Be glad that he's alive. Be glad that we have a lead. We'll be getting him back."
Paxton stepped back. "I need to go. Stop burning your room."
