Narrative: Abduction WHO: Ambriel Triàdhos and his two abductors WHERE: The alley behind Rialto's Ice Cream Shoppe WHEN: Thursday evening
It would be Ambriel's last shift for the week. He always worked later than most of his colleagues, cleaning diligently and making absolutely sure everything was perfect. It was for that same reason that the owner usually let Ambriel take care of shifts alone. Ambriel was a dream employee. As a co-worker, he was an anal-retentive pain in the ass.
He left Rialto's through the back door, carrying a trash bag. He put it down and locked the door. Just as he did so, he heard an odd noise to the side of him, like somebody had inflated an air mattress, only really quickly. Voomp.
There were two of them, dressed in baggy clothes and wearing scarves that obscured half of their faces. They had messy hair, one brown, one blond. When Ambriel noticed the forked tail, he realized they were demons. "Hey," one said, his voice raspy, "we need to have a word with you." But the other one lunged at him.
Ambriel didn't carry his sword with him, but he still knew how to fight. Besides, the one who charged at him hadn't counted on his wings. Dropping the glamor, Ambriel used them to swat him away while kicking the other against the trash container. "Fuck," the one on the ground said, "we don't want to damage you. Marek!"
Ambriel turned, expecting the one called Marek to attack, but instead, the other one had approached from the ground. She swiped at Ambriel's legs and Ambriel dodged away, right into the clutches of Marek. He grabbed him and the other one jumped up, covering the angel's face with her hands. Ambriel felt something come out of them and smelled something like almonds and then, he was gone.
"Strong little bastard," Marek said, the unconscious angel slumped against him. "Reckon anyone heard that, Chiara?"
"Doesn't matter," the girl said, wiping her hands off her pants. "We've got him now."
"Pity we couldn't get Rivera too."
"Rivera wouldn't give us any value right now. Maybe later. But the angel has value, and Davian is the leverage to get us that value. The Riveras will only pay for the angel if we can blackmail them through Davian, their disgraced brother. They might even outbid the real contenders. We can bleed them dry for Davian later. Now, stop your fretting and let's get out of here."
Marek nodded and flicked his tail. A portal opened with a voomp. They jumped, taking the angel with them, and they were gone.
