Paxton swore internally. James wanted Davian to give his word, and that's exactly what Paxton wanted to avoid. If he wanted Davian to swear, he had to think carefully about the wording. A demon's word was binding.
But now, he had to act fast.
"Give your word, Davian," Paxton said, his eyes locking with his brother's, "Promise us. You won't breathe a word of what you saw or of what I and James have to anyone else. Unless we specifically yell you, you can't speak about this to anyone else. Swear that."
