Rafe and Heather
"Oh, heavens no," Rafe laughed, "That was one of the few times in history where I did not make an active effort to blend in." The 60s were a strange time in general though. A lot of changes happening the world. People who were alive now seemed to have this idea that all the big changes happened in the last century. It was true and not quite so true. Rafe was witness to many world-changing events in his lifespan. New ideas and wars that changed political boundaries and ideologies. The question as to other eras drew his brows together but more in thought. What else did he have in his closet?
While he thought, he also listened as she shared what she discovered her own dress. "I do believe it," he said, "Historians and those who have their hearts in the past are good about preservation. You know, there's a group in the area that calls themselves the Society for Creative Anachronism. They live in the Middle Ages primarily, the same way that the Renaissance wanted to get back to the 'good times' of Ancient Greece and Rome." He recalled a movie he watched where the nostalgia of times never experienced but idealized was an important theme in the film.
"Really?" he asked, now laughing a little more, "You wanted to police the punch bowl as an adult?" His eyebrow raised and he was laughing a bit again. It was amusing to him that it was something that Heather wanted to do. Most of the other staff felt it was an unwelcome duty. Some even groaning about how it was his or her turn to stand watch.
