Something was wrong. Jack had been the victim of magic before, and this definitely smacked of it. Jack wasn't the type to fall in love just like that: he needed time. Friendship. Banter. He needed time to adjust his mind to the idea of that person being a romantic interest.
Jack didn't fall in love. He eased into it.
But it had been so long that he'd felt like this, where you'd simply look at someone and know that the world was right. Where you'd everything for them, just to see them smile.
He quickly touched Leon's hand, wanting him to look up, wanting him to see Jack's smile. "I'm assuming I get to congratulate you for either getting in the college of your choice, or I get to be the one to tell you that you'll never have a crypt in a Jewish cemetery."
