Thread: Lovin' You is Easy
WHO: Dana Novak and John Tohquah (Dahnathan or Johna, take your pick)
WHEN: April 1, morning!
WHERE: Hydra Dorm
Spring was gradually creeping into Maine, but it might be a bit before it would bloom in all its splendor. There were a few random warm days that were followed by the handful of colder ones. One would think the plants would be used to this sort of thing by now, but as Dana spent her morning in the woods, she noticed that a few eager plants had suffered from the morning frost. They would recover, surely, but the poor dears wouldn't be the same. Her bare feet made little noise on the forest floor and Dana was careful where she stepped should there be any other flowers struggling to fight against New England's weather patterns in early spring. And then she spotted it. Dana walked carefully over to the flower that she knew by the name of lady slipper. An orchid. A rare one too and here it was in the woods and exposed to the elements that might tear it apart. Normally Dana was all about letting nature run its course, but this time she wanted to do something. She knew some students at the school who would be ideal for caring after it, but she decided that John would be the best choice. So her fingers dug into the cooled earth and with some work she managed to root the plant out. With the plant now in her hands, she turned and started running back toward the school as if she were taking the plant to an emergency room. She came to Hydra dorms and pushed in. It was early enough that some students may still be sleeping, while others, if awake, left already or enjoyed the privacy of their room. Dana came to John's door and knocked on the door with the knuckles of her right foot. Her hands were full and she didn't want to juggle her patient in order to knock on a door. Her foot worked just fine for that! When the door opened, Dana smiled, "John—" and she didn't finish her greeting. Instead Dana stared at him, her smile wavering and her mouth opening slightly as if in amazement. Her stomach flip-flopped and her heart felt like it swelled within her breast. "John," she repeated his name and started to move her hands but then remembered the plant. The plant. Yes, she brought this plant for John. John who would help it and take care of it with those beautiful hands of his and the magic that ran through his veins. She wanted to kiss those hands and then his lips and then . . . |
