While her brother was distracted by his girlfriend, Kat slid her arm warmers on and carefully took Mal's hand pulling gently so that he would follow her to the kitchen. Having flashes of the past made a girl hungry.
"They'll be like that for a while," she told him, and honestly she wished she could try that with Mal. She didn't want to sound bitter or anything, so she kept these thoughts to herself. She needed to practice more when she got back. It was the only way to figure it out. She hoped Mal didn't have any second thoughts about their relationship. It was hard enough for her and she didn't have a choice. He did. He could have chosen Abby.
She shook those thoughts off as she put a couple of pancakes and strawberries on a plate and sat next to where Mal had been sitting earlier. "So whatcha wanna do today?"
