The face was moving closer and it still looked and felt wrong. It was still those strange colors and he thought it was going to drip onto his face but instead the droplets came to a sudden stop, making thin . . . hairs. The face was clearer though the colors were wrong. It was the face of a young woman and her eyes were entirely dark at first. Everything about this felt like a horror movie but Alex couldn't seem to scream. His body in reality was unresponsive save for the dangerously slow pulse and the shallow breathing.
The face though. He knew that face. Where had he seen that face?
"You left me," a voice said that didn't match the girl's voice at all. It felt like a hand on Alex's throat. It scratched at his ears and felt as wrong as everything about her appearance was. She accused again, "You left me!"
Alex wanted to shout at her and say he didn't know her but he did. He'd seen her face before and now it was right in front of him. The black of the eyes fading to white and a dull gray color and the hair half in her face. Alex's spirit felt a shiver of something he couldn't describe. Because he knew where he'd seen her face before. It wasn't long ago at the party.
"You left me!" she shouted at him again and then a hand covered her face, pulling her back. Now that she was out of his sight, he thought he should see the hotel room. Maybe wake up in his own bed or amidst the pillows that Davian and him tossed together. But instead it was darkness and he fell forward.
