Alex had asked Davian twice if he had any before Davian could even answer. The young sloth demon knew the value of getting high, of escaping like that, and after what sounded like a super boring and shitty party, he couldn't fault Alex for wanting to enjoy the rest of his night. Davian scratched his belly with his black claws and smirked, starting to relax some. There was nothing wrong, just Alex wanting to get high. Just Alex wanting to get high right now, which should have been a red flag, but Davian dismissed it in his relief that there were no Demon Lords involved.
"I got something better. Ever smoked Nightshade?" Grinning, Davian turned back into his room and tugged his boxers on, hopping on one foot as he balanced with his tail. "Barky used to grow some for me and I'd pay premium for it. But ever since his whole, you know," Davian made a shooting gun motion to his own head and rolled his eyes back to signify Barclay's long coma. "He hasn't been able to. But I got some left."
Finding his tanktop somewhere else on the floor, Davian scooped it up and pulled it over his head - inside out - with the fabric snagging on his horns a second before he adjusted it right. Then he finally made it to his suitcase to find the dried Nightshade.
*****
Smoke curled out of Davian's mouth towards the ceiling. It was a blue tinted smoke, not like tobacco or marijuana. Nightshade was poison, but demons had a stiffer constitution for things like that, drugs and alcohol, and Davian loved the unique high that smoking Nightshade gave him. He was happy to share with his friend, forgetting the fact that Alex was only human. Or maybe he remembered, subconsciously, and that was why he had no issue handing the rolled paper to his friend. A demon was meant to corrupt others. It was natural.
"Fffffuck," he sighed, turning his head to the side to look at Alex on the pile of pillows they'd made in the common area of the hotel suite. Couch cushions and fluffy feather bed pillows littered the floor. Davian had lost track of time and was ready to smoke another one when he didn't hear a response from Alex.
"Hey, Lex. Did you fall asleep?" Davian snickered and rolled over to get a closer look at his face. "Lex. Hey." He nudged him. "Alex!"
