On the Beach: Ellie & Bayani & OPEN
"That's what I heard," Bayani confirmed, "and it was confirmed. I think what bothered me was how he snapped at Victoria and James when they confronted him with it. You would think someone contrite wouldn't swear aggressively at others for speaking the truth." He got defensive of them, and Leon by default, and it meant he would always watch the other vampire with suspicion. "I don't know how Leon stands to be here every day with him, though. If that happened to me, and I had to live with the person in my space all school year long, things would be violent more often." Bayani would probably leave or the other person would have to. He wasn't someone who iced over his rage or let things go.
Bayani nodded because he agreed. Not everyone had educational aspirations. Apparently Kaden would want to encourage him to look at colleges when he was ready to move on from this place. But he doubted it was something that would appeal to him, not for many years yet. "I know there are poor people who manage to go to college, so you could go about it the same way." Exact details, he didn't know, but college wasn't only for the rich. The cost wasn't on the list of reasons why he didn't want to go. He assumed he would figure out that portion when he wanted to. "You're smart, you should go."
He met her hand with his own, tangling their fingers together comfortably. "I know so. If it's not done by the time I graduate, that's what I will do after school." Bayani wished he could go now, but he would be lost in bloodlust if he tried. He needed to train or he would be too dangerous. "None of us have forgotten them."
