Bayani & Victoria
Victoria laughed as Bayani nudged her. It was good to have this. Companionship. Victoria was nice and generally friendly to most people, but not in the way that seemed to run rampant through Kitsune house or even her own. She wasn't loud or wanting to do everything all at once. In her old school it had given her some good friendships and she'd been popular in her grade. It helped that she'd known most of the students since they were little and their families ran in the same circles. Coming to St. Margaret's forced her to build friendships from scratch and while she didn't have a lot of friends, she was appreciating the ones she did have. She could understand why people like Leon or Ashton were so selective about who they welcomed into their circle of friends.
When Bayani stiffened, it didn't go unnoticed by Victoria and she regretted bringing it up. Sorin and others spoke about it rather freely. What they were going to do and how they were going to save everyone. Victoria's smile faded, her expression more serious though not entirely like Bayani's.
"You'll have others who will want to help," Victoria said, "Remember that." She reached out and grabbed his hand, giving it a squeeze. Victoria didn't know what justice that the kids from Anton would take on those people, but she imagined it would be the sort of justice that lacked mercy. Her father always talked about the golden rule. Treat others the way you want to be treated. But sometimes there wasn't room for mercy. If many of the people from Anton died, she wouldn't be surprised. And truthfully, she wouldn't be that sorry. A difference in what Victoria had been like when she was alive.
She took her hand back and then stared down at the iPad again, "Thanks again for helping me—" Victoria's blue eyes came to Bayani's gaze again.
