Sorin & Abby & OPEN
It didn't matter to Abigail what temperature the lake was. Hot, cold, it all felt the same to her--neutral, room temperature even. She had never been swimming before, didn't even own a swimsuit, but she didn't want to pass up the opportunity for that. She wore her regular clothes, fully layered and covering most of her from the neck down. They would be soaking wet by the end of this, but she found that preferable to exposing much skin.
Her first entry into the lake had been timid, not because of the temperature but because of a worry of drowning. As it turned out, even overdressed as she was, she had an easy enough time simply floating if she let herself relax. That had made her giddy enough that she was running hot, though it was also aided by being around so many half-dressed people; and when she left the water, the droplets on her skin were practically sizzling.
This was her third time in, the last she was required to do, and she was feeling much bolder about it, still in high spirits. She was considering diving in a few more times just for the fun of it. She was waiting behind Sorin when she noticed how much he was shivering. He wasn't the only one, but he was the first since she got an idea.
"Hey, wait. Let me go first. Give it about a minute then jump in while I'm still in there. It should be a little warmer, and no, not because of pee, because that's gross and I would never do that. Okay?"
