John was relieved to see her moving and he didn't pull back when she reached out, thinking she might collapse if he let her get up on her own. But when she kissed him, John blinked rapidly, frozen in place. That was unexpected. It was all John could do to not drop her with surprise and a feeling of guilt that he had somehow had something to do with it.
"I'm sorry," he murmured anyway, just in case. No, wait, she'd been the one who kissed him! "It... I don't know. You messaged me last night and you skipped classes this morning. Are you feeling alright?" The healer hesitated, but then reached up to touch her brow, checking for a temperature. He didn't apply any of his healing power to the skin contact, unsure yet if it was needed or even wise. "You look exhausted."
