Memories of a great man
Who: Katherine and Open Where: Library When: Monday afternoon after classes
Katherine had gotten in just that morning with just enough time to get to her classes. She was still feeling a little depressed though, so the classes all seemed to run together. She had seen so many images while away that it was likely she had witnessed her grandfather's entire life now. While that was nice, it had also left her with a headache so great that she still felt it even two days later. Luckily Ollie had been there to help as much as he could, but even he couldn't hold everyone off. Now that she was back at school, she was able to get a bit of breathing room again.
She wore a long sleeve black turtleneck and a pair of dark purple jeans. Her gloves currently were sitting on the table next to her so she could turn pages in the book she was reading. The Count of Monte Cristo. She hadn't ever known but apparently her grandfather had been an expert fencer back in his younger days, and even gotten the lead in a local production of the play because of his skill. Kat had seen him in one of the images of the past when her grandmother kissed her. She knew he always liked to be active, but she had never pegged him for a theater person. He had apparently enjoyed it though.
She sighed as she got to the point where Faria died and set the book down. She wanted to try to see more of her grandfather. She supposed that was how it was. Someone passes away and then you think of all the times you might could have spent with them yet didn't. There was nothing she could do about it now except try and force her power to work, but she still didn't understand it properly yet. She felt like she would never understand it at times. The images of her grandmother and grandfather on their first date sharing a kiss lingered on her mind. Then their wedding day. So many more as well. Him applauding Kat's mother at her first recital. She had so many new memories of a man she could never interact with again, and the thought brought tears to her eyes. It was the first time she truly felt she could let her guard down for a moment since she was at a place where she could just tell people not to touch her and they would understand.
