Thread: Charge
WHO: Cressida Hallowfen & Heather Thatcher
WHEN: Jan. 14, 2016, afternoon
WHERE: The Circle
Cressida and Heather spoke outside of class. Cressida actually made an immediate exit from the infirmary when her conversation with Blake ended in order to seek the other witch out. They discussed the manner in which they would charge it and agreed to read more about it to make sure that they were doing it not only correctly, but it wouldn't have a severe backlash on Barclay. Bringing Barclay back and having to put him on disability the rest of his life wasn't ideal. He would've been better off in the woods were that the case. Though they would discuss with his family as to what should be done if that were a real risk. Once they studied a bit, the two met, conferred, and then knew what to do. They would go to the Circle and there charge the disc. The magic there was strong. Deep in the earth, sometimes Cressida felt like she could feel it on her skin. They agreed to meet there Thursday after classes. There they would take care of charging this item. There was a lot riding on this thing. If it didn't bring back Barclay, their hands were tied. Barclay would vanish into the trees and Ashton would waste away and Cressida would have failed two students. "We need to create a circle," Cressida said putting a bag down nearby that contained a number of items, including the artifact. She added, "And I suspect it may take some time to charge it fully. It looks like it will require quite some power before it's ready." But Cressida was willing to give it that time and magic. Lord Byron was back at the school and Cressida didn't want to channel that much through him. A circle would be sufficient for their needs. It would contain the power and also serve to draw it in. It wasn't the easiest method but certainly the best guarantee for success. Taking a container of rocks into her hand, she moved to start placing them in the circle. Each one laid carefully and pointed in a certain direction. Heather was likely preparing her own portion of the spell. The more they could do to ensure magic could be drawn in, the better. Because this wasn't a thing that would get them a second try. It was now or never. Everyone waited long enough. It was time to bring Barclay home. |
