Re: The Awakening: Barclay, Ashton, Leon, Mr. Pheres, Ms. Hallowfen, and OPEN
Ashton's alarm did spike when Barclay grew anxious. He could feel the druid trying to sit up and Ashton helped him, bracing the boy against his own sturdy frame so he could face the others in the room, face the world, and not be flat on his back. The dragon crooned softly, the noise against Barclay's ear and laced with concern. What was the meaning of this? Who took something from his witch? What did they take?
"Perhaps he means the forest," Mr. Pheres's calmer voice reasoned, sharing Cressida's look. "He's been in the life force of the forest for weeks. This is an abrupt removal, a distancing that may be jarring for his mind."
Leon stepped closer, watching Barclay with growing concern. "He should hear the forest more strongly than ever, then. Feel them. It shouldn't stop just because he's returned to his own body."
The centaur gave the vampire a slight withering look. It would not serve to keep the patient calm to worry him more. "We can't know at this early stage. First we make certain he's stable." And that meant verifying he could recall the chain of events that led to him being comatose for weeks. Kiakos nodded at Cressida to proceed with the questions while he turned to concoct a calming additive in case the boy grew more agitated.
