Davian took several deep breaths to get himself amped up enough to bolt out across the lawn that had become a battle royal. Hunters mixed with students mixed with Otherworlders. Davian even thought he spotted his boss, Duke from Duke's Diner and Koan from Nazar out there. And was that Dustin?

Davian let his breath out in a slow stream, heart still racing, and looked at Jae. He swallowed hard at her words and nodded. "Ok. I'm ready."

Bolting out from their temporary hiding place, Davian raced across the lawn. He skirted the edges of a fight between three witches and a giant sized Otherworlder, managing to spare enough attention to light a flame under the Otherworlder's feet that gave the witches an opening to take it out. Then he was sprinting for the large entrance. Bodies were stacking up, and Davian didn't pause to see if any of them were his classmates. It was like Armageddon out there, and all he wanted to do was hide in the dark safety of the castle.
