Thread: Medicine Man WHO: Corinna and John WHEN: After classes, Nov 5 WHERE: Hydra dorm, John's room
John was going to help this girl who said she was cursed, but he really didn't know anything beyond that and her name. Leon said she was cursed by a warlock, a powerful one. John wasn't sure what that meant, but Leon had said something about getting backlash and that didn't sound pleasant at all. John still wasn't going to back down from a challenge. He knew Leon probably knew what he was talking about, but that didn't stop John. He'd be careful. Maybe it really was something he could help with.
Curses were harmful. No one ever cursed someone else out of kindness, that wasn't the nature of a curse. Like hexes, curses were to damn the recipient in some way. John's studies with the medicine men back home had covered curses, but not in great depth. Tribal curses could be completely different than what Corinna had on her. He was going to find out, one way or another. The worst case scenario, not counting the curse remaining on Corinna and John getting any backlash that came from tampering, was that he'd ruin his credit at the Academy in his first week.
On the other hand, if he was successful when even the teachers couldn't cure her curse, then he'd really be able to make a name for himself.
In the Hydra dorms, John tried to make his room presentable. He didn't have many belongings, so the walls were bare except for the dreamcatcher on the window and the peg where he hung his jacket. John watched the door. He had some paper ready for note taking and the medicine bag was resting beside him on the bed. Corinna was going to be there any minute and John didn't want to waste any time.
