Just Away from the Bonfire: Ellie & Rider & Kaden
Rider actually had to resist the urge to slap his palm against his face as Ellie jumped in front of him and tried to lie about bringing the whiskey. He managed to resist however, and his only response was a small cringe and a twitch of his hand. He quickly smoothed out his features however, and made a mental note to talk to Ellie later about A) telling believable lies and B) never owning up to actually bringing the booze.
While he wasn’t surprised at the punishment, Rider couldn’t help but deflate a little as his head of house ordered the two of them back to their rooms for the rest of the night. The Halloween party was always his favorite, and he knew there were still a few good hours left. But he also knew better to argue with a surly bear. He’d gotten into a lot of trouble of the years and he’d fine-tuned his senses to know when he could push it, and when it would be wise to keep his mouth shut.
“Understood,” Rider confirmed, even though the thought of getting up at dawn for detention pained him. At least it was a Sunday and he could sneak a nap later on. “Sorry, Mr K. I’m just going to walk Ellie back to her room first, then I’ll head right back to Ladon.”
