Just Away from the Bonfire: Ellie & Rider
"Oi, stahp," she answered through a giggle, blushing even harder now. Ellie certainly wasn't resisting being guided back toward the bonfire. "I sound backwater an' provincial. I know it well enough." She thought she sounded like some country cousin with no education to speak of. Not refined like some of the girls at school. Try as she might, however, that brogue wasn't going away.
An impish smile wrinkled her nose as she hunched her shoulders up, and leaned toward Rider to speak in conspiratorial tones. "I had a wee bit of tha' specially warmed cider. A bit more woulna hurt, aye?" She felt like she was one of them now with sneaking something forbidden. It was kind of fun!
