Outside the Bonfire: Dana & Kaden
Did Mr. Kaden just growl at her? Dana immediately took a step back and her eyes followed the drink as it sailed out of the cup. The crunching sound drew her attention back. Mr. Kaden and his large hands had easily turned the cup into a small ball of plastic. She swallowed and felt the need to hide. Dana did not like Halloween here. She didn't like it one bit.
When he lifted the cup, Dana flinched and took another step back. Why was he so angry at her? Why was he so angry about all of this? This wasn't the Mr. Kaden she knew! Biting down hard on her bottom lip, she lowered her head and then looked up cautiously when he wasn't shouting but instead speaking less angrily than before.
"Oh," Dana said and she didn't dare argue with him about it, not that she would. Dana rarely pushed the issue about things and what she did end up frustrated with would end up easily forgotten and forgiven rather quickly. She nodded slowly, "Yes, I understand. But what if I did know them but I don't remember who gave it to me? I have a lot of friends." The statement from someone not Dana might sound rather arrogant, but Dana was a very social person and knew a lot of people, but often was distracted that she didn't always keep track of who she was talking to and when.
