Outside the Bonfire: Dana & Kaden
Kaden and all of the teachers were on high alert. The traditional festivities and ceremonies of Halloween were important enough to continue, but there was still something in the woods that was scaring the students and giving off a malicious vibe. They hadn't found what had killed Jonah, and they weren't going to take the chance of someone else getting hurt.
So the werebear, in his human form with a scowl etched into his bearded features, was patrolling the woods. Nothing was going to slip by his watch and that included students getting drunk. Granted, Kaden knew that Ladon House and the others would find ways of getting around that, it was just one of the many traditions of the holiday, but he was not going to make it easy for any of them.
He made regular paths through the bonfire party, suspecting one of Barclay's party tricks had been put to use to cover the smell of alcohol, but if there was no reasonable cause to look closer, then Kaden wasn't going to. He had more important things to watch out for than someone sneaking beer.
But that didn't stop him from getting angry when he spotted Dana in the woods some distance from the bonfire with a red cup filled with a coke and whiskey combination. His scowl intensified that someone had given it to her in the first place. But she should know better than to accept alcohol. He called ahead to her.
"Dana, front and center, right now. Hand over the cup!" Students nearby scattered out of the way of the tall man, shifting to gain a vantage point to watch without being too obvious.
