The Library: Sorin & Ellie
"They sound creepy," Ellie said with a bit of a petulant tone to her voice. "Like a distant echo you don't know what caused it." She shuddered a little. That was a bit too description for the night, and she thanked her brain for spitting it out.
His laugh got a grin from her, however. She always liked to hear him laugh, see him smile. He deserved it after what he did for her and the rest that he got out of that thrice damned castle. That and the scars she gave him. Why he still talked to her, helped her out as much as he did after what she'd done still astonished Ellie.
"Aye!" she chirped. "Bright pink. 'Cause you know someone'll try to charm the horses in the stables just to see if they can." Which would be hilarious to watch when they got in trouble, but not so much fun for the poor horses.
His question sobered her, however. Her smile fled from her face as she went quiet. So many ways to answer that, each answer hit closer and closer to the heart. She trusted Sorin, but she didn't like to let on how truly scared she was, or how vulnerable she felt. But this was Sorin. "To go home. I wanna see my mum. Even my stupid brothers. I dinna even know if they know I'm still alive."
