Bonfire: Thierry and Ellie
She was going to have to look that up. Ellie only knew the bare bones of the Robin Hood stories. Now it sounded as if she should start researching them. Like Thierry, she was fascinated with history, especially the supernatural histories. She wanted to know!
Mention of her costume, or lack thereof, made her roll her eyes. That stubborn set of her jaw was familiar to anyone who knew Ellie for any length of time, and meant her foot was down firmly on the matter. "I'm not wearing a costume. I dinna ken the whole thing so this is as much effort as I'll give to all this." She gestured vaguely away from herself with a flap of her wrap.
"And those movies lie. They leave stuff out. Important stuff. Or they get it all wrong so you aren't missing anything." She hadn't seen many movies herself. They didn't exactly have a New Release Night at Anton Castle. What few they did allow the children to watch were carefully picked out. So when she came to St. Margaret's she'd been far more interested in the books and stories in them. Some of her favorites were the Lord of the Rings. When she learned they'd been made into movies she eagerly sat down to watch them...then got vastly disappointed when it didn't match up with what she'd had in her mind, and scenes got left out. Run Time, Continuity and Pacing meant nothing to her.
