Thread: Forest Dwellers WHO: Cori & Lucia WHEN: Wed, Oct 21, before sunset WHERE: The woods
Lucie tiptoed from leaf to dying leaf, frosting them with such intricate designs of ice that they looked like masterpieces made of crystal. She hopped to the next one, singing to herself with the sounds of bells as she spun in a circle, dancing on the delicate surface of the leaf. The sweet twinkling sound carried through the forest as she worked, blessing each leaf with her gift to speed the trees along on their progression towards sleep.
The woods felt odd today. Lucia couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something was off. Normally she felt welcome in the forest, even if she did cause frost damage sometimes or bother nesting birds with her constant questions and observations. Today she felt something darker, like suspicion. She felt like an outsider in a way she hadn't felt since she was first taken from her mountain.
Lucia paused in her frosting duties and hovered in the air, a tiny white speck of light no larger than a wasp, and she considered this abnormality. Dana would talk to the trees on her behalf to learn what she'd done to offend them, since Lucia didn't talk to trees, but she wanted to solve it herself.
Fluttering off, leaving behind a trail of frost and faerie dust in her wake, Lucia zoomed through the branches, daring the trees to grab her and crush her. She taunted them, weaving in and out of their arms and shouting at the top of her tiny lungs. "Be nice, you trees! You don't know anything about me! I didn't do it! It's not my fault!"
She zipped above the canopy and flew over the tops of the trees, bending their tips with the weight of frost that was left in her wake. The sound of her bells clashed with the quiet of the forest and Lucia grew increasingly anxious. What was wrong?
"Oh!" Lucia exclaimed, spotting the blonde head of Cori down below. Maybe the deer girl would have a clue for her. She spiraled down, bursting through the branches to appear in front of Cori's face. Lucia came close enough to touch her nose. "Hallo, mein Freund!"
