At the Movie: Jasper and Sara and OPEN
This time Sara's laugh was a nervous and slightly gushing one. He had his arm around her shoulders and Sara hadn't been this close to a boy without significant maneuvering on her part. But here was Jasper, arm around her, sitting together in the dark and it almost felt like they were alone since everyone around them was engrossed in the movie.
She knew her face was flushed bright pink and was grateful for the darkness and the fact that Jasper was human. Which meant he couldn't see or sense her flush of reaction. "Gosh, that's so nice of you!" Sara tried to make her tone a little teasing. "But you know I'm a werewolf, right? I'm pretty scary." She turned and looked at him, winking. "I think I'll be the one protecting you."
Sara often referred to herself as a werewolf, just automatically, since her adopted family was all wolves and they always called one another that. They even called her a wolf. Only recently was she starting to come into her own foxy self. She was accepting that part about her, that she was different. Part of the pack still, yes, but different too. She was liking that about herself more and more.
