Dallas was doing better. All the guilt he had been feeling over Kana had melted away, mostly because she wasn't actually dead. Part of him still wished he had been there...there was a part of him that felt he could have helped even though Therese had told him countless times there was nothing he could have done.
Speaking of Therese he couldn't help but smirk every time someone referred to her as Mrs. Gurule. Despite them spending as much time together as they had when they were merely dating her being his wife changed things. She gave him the reassurance that she would always be there...that she would always have his back. Someone like Dallas needed that reassurance after so many years of having no one to count on.
While he hated that his Head of House duties had been taken from him he actually was relieved. He felt more relaxed and could focus more on his classes and students. Just because he wasn't a head of house it didn't meant kids couldn't still come to them with question or what not... he'd never turn them away. Which led to moments like this. Daniela Vasquez, he had been keeping an eye on her when he could. He didn't know any specifics but he had heard murmurs about necromancy and that shot him to attention. Necromancy was not something to play around with, he learned that the hard way and he would do everything in his power to prevent any of the kids from experiencing that. He had planned on talking to her about it but didn't know how to bring it up, but it looks like she saved him from trying to find a way. He smiled when she approached,
"Ms. Vasquez...of course, give me just a moment." He cupped a hand around his mouth and shouted to the rest of the class, "Once you finish your laps you are free to go, good work today!" He then turned back to her and took a seat on the bleachers, "So...what did you want to talk to me about?"
