It was still a bit startling to Sara, who relied so heavily on all her senses as a were, to hear Kana's voice, smell Kana - albeit a bit different now - and then look at her and see a stranger. She was getting more used to it, little by little, but it was going to take some time. It was also going to take some time for Sara to fully mend from the hurt she felt all summer long. Never before had she felt so sad. Her life was a happy one and she'd always been surrounded by loved ones and friends who cared for her. So she had not taken Kana's supposed death very well.
Of course, she couldn't be angry at Kana or resent her in any way. She knew she should just be glad that her sister was back at all. But the hurt still lingered there, a scar on her broken heart that would never fully heal. Try as she might to bounce back to her normal self and enjoy the season and being back at the school again, she found herself crying into her pillow at night when she was alone. It was happening less frequently now, at least. Her brother wasn't even there to console her, but then again, Gabe had always been wrapped up in his own friends and his own concerns while they were students at St. Margaret's together.
She walked between Kana and Jae and grinned as she reached out to put her hot chocolate down in order to pick up some crazy sunglasses with wingtips. "How about these?"
