Claire hated this. She hated feeling so useless and helpless. Sure she helped take down the Wendigo and she was proud, but she was shocked at how beat up she came out of it. She knew part of it was because of the adrenaline rushing through her veins blocked any of the pain from injuries she maintained from getting to her brain. Once the Wendigo fell all of it caught up with her and she collapsed. She had be held up in her room for several days barely able to move. But no more of that. She had to get back to combat ready, she had to always be ready. More sparring sessions with Andrei were needed, also, seriously, they need to work out some hand signal code to coordinate better next time. Not that she wanted there to be a next time, but just in case it's good to be prepared. Also...research...she needed to do some serious research on the big supernatural baddies out there. Learn their weaknesses so taking them down next time would be easy.
Deciding that her hobbling around the track wasn't doing anything except furthering her embarrassment she decided to sit down. The teacher saw but gave her a nod saying it was okay. She frowned at all the other students, all healed and fine. Even Andrei...stupid vampires and their super speed healing. Sure her wolf genes also gave her the ability to heal faster than a normal human, but not as fast as a vampire. Claire was broken out of her thoughts by a familiar voice. Teddy. He was such a sweetheart and her eyes fell to the bottle of water he offered. Now she knew he was good at reading lips but she took it upon herself to learn at least a little bit of ASL for him. So far all she knew was the alphabet, yes, no, please, and thank you. For the moment it was enough, also with her busted ribs talking wasn't the most fun. So she quickly signed a 'H' and an 'I.'
The water felt good on her throat and she said softly, "Yeah, Claire. Thank you," she did the sign language for thank you as she said it. At his question if she was okay she gave a little shrug, "Well, I'm still healing and I just hate not being able to do all the active things I enjoy. Stupid Wendigo." She patted the spot next to her inviting him to sit down, "What about you? You doing okay?"
