Summer: Leon and Victoria
Victoria's eyes widened at his adamant "No!" but what was he saying "no" to? He leaned in close to speak to her and she felt like he might actually say something. But he couldn't talk about it there. She stared at him wondering where he could tell her about it. Would he tell her at all? So many personal things he held back. They hadn't been friends as long as he had with others, but he'd allowed her to share things with him. Personal things. But she'd always shared so much and he only what he could not hide from her.
"And you can't tell me?" she asked, seeing the sincerity and knowing it was there, but she was just so bewildered, "Or you don't want to tell me? León . . . " She raised a hand and touched the side of his face, "I understand you want to protect me, but James has done nothing with me that you should be concerned about. He's—" she started but then stopped.
"He and I have a lot in common," she said, "and I like him. I hope that you can trust me enough to know that I know what I'm doing."
