"Yep," Alex replied, leaving off the 'Captain Obvious' that sat at the tip of his tongue but was ultimately left unsaid. He looked at the bottle of water and took it, leaving the glass on the table and gave a "Thanks" to Mr. Cavanaugh. Alex grew up not having to say 'thanks' for anything until his grandpa moved in. The old man cured him of that really fast and now it was habit to say it.
He cracked open the top and took a swig from the bottle, "Is this where you're going to ask me what I'm mad about?" Alex's eyebrow raised, not sure of what approach Mr. Cavanaugh was gonna take. Cavanaugh was not known for being like Mr. Kaden. He wasn't one to talk about feelings and to Alex, he always appeared like a guy who thought through logical reasons first.
But Alex didn't really pay all that much attention in Cavanaugh's class and when he was called upon, he regurgitated information from the readings word-for-word. It only got tricky when they talked about things like 'sidhe.' That word was definitely not pronounced the way it was spelled.
