Jae didn't move from where she stood, even when he seemed to catch himself. The strong human scent hit her hard. His perspiration was likely at the root of it and she swallowed hard. She could do this. She could have this conversation. Sorin wouldn't be able to put up a fight and attacking him, he looked so weak . . . he slight frame. She knew Sorin spoke freely about what happened to him and the others, and had concluded it made up for his stature and build. But this was the first time she thought about how easily she could overtake him.
Jae felt disgusted with herself for that thought, even if it was part of who she was. A predator wrapped up in a pretty package.
He was putting on his shirt and it cut off her view of his chest and the flesh there that claws could all too easily tear through. Like a hot knife through butter. She shook her head, both in answer to him and to draw her mind away from her other thoughts. "No," she said, even if the shake had said enough, "I thought I smelled something. Something like Ashton, but different. Um, but all I can smell in here is you." Anyone that didn't know Jae was a kumiho thought her to be a simple fox were. Most were satisfied with that.
