Thread: You're that guy that does that thing
WHO: Barclay Grisholt & Dana Novak
WHEN: April 30, late afternoon
WHERE: The Woods
Dana often spent time in the woods. As a dryad, this was nothing knew and most people expected it by now. She was still getting to know everyone in the school, but one person in particular seemed to elude her: Barclay Grisholt. She got a name from others, and she knew he had to be the boy the trees told her about. The young boy who helped them. She was looking forward to meeting him, but she had yet to find him. In the woods, Dana chose to stop and feed. That meant removing her shoes and allowing her legs to turn into roots that dug into the earth, pushing through the soil. After she finished, her feet changed back to normal and she reminded herself to pick up her shoes. She already lost a few pairs, along with some clothing, by leaving them behind in the woods. She wasn't used to wearing clothing all the time, so it took effort to remind herself that she had worn clothing when she went into the woods, so she needed to remember to wear it back out. Of course on her way back to the school she got distracted. There was some creaking and she realized a couple of maples were trying to tell her something. Maples didn't speak the same as another oak, so it took her a little bit to figure out what they were trying to tell her. She stood there, staring at the tree, for a while before she realized what it was telling her. "Oh!" she explained and then pressed her hands against the tree, a strange sort of moaning and creaking sound now coming out of her mouth. She asked the tree where he was, and the tree told her. Excitedly, she dropped her shoes and went running in the direction the maple directed her until she came to a halt near where she saw someone hunched over. Without hesitation, she hurried forward to squat down in front of him, "Found you!" |
