It happened like that all night. Whenever Alex settled down, or whenever he got a semblance of a grip on the situation, Barclay struck. The forest at night wasn't that dangerous a place, but when you were blind and helpless, it was a mess. Loud, filled with strange noises and creatures, especially considering the fact that Barclay could awaken the trees.
Alex didn't realize it, but very slowly, he was wondering towards the cliffs, where they gave way to a steep height, filled with sharp rocks, shallow water and rough waves. Barclay considered it, but very briefly.
Barclay grabbed Alex by the arm, not really caring if he scared the boy, and sprinkled the antidote in Alex's face. "Enough."
