After the Recital: Victoria & Leon & James
Victoria was blind to the effect James had on Leon, but instead turned to greet the other vampire with a smile. "I wasn't sure if you were still out there for not," she said and then smiled a little brighter, accepting the offered flowers and also the kiss on the cheek, "Gracias, James." The roses were Victoria's favorite color. Red. The color that much of her clothing seemed to have somewhere on it and the usual color she colored her lips with. The color of her heels as well, to make up for the lack of it on her dress.
"Club?" Victoria asked, "I see the milkshake was just a ruse. I'm glad though. I'd prefer to go to a club." Something that Leon knew already, but likely James remembered as well. Victoria had yet to be at a club since her arrival at St. Margaret's. The one in Camden didn't count and certainly didn't have the same feel.
She breathed in the scent of the roses. Flowers' scent was much more potent now, but Victoria found it made her want to smell them more. She said, "But you're right, we should go." And then she turned to Leon to excuse her and say they could talk more later. Victoria had made plans with James before tonight, and so she didn't want to delay them since as students they were on borrowed time. Even vampires had a strange sort of curfew. They could hunt, but she felt like wandering too far from school as a fangling would lead to trouble she didn't want to deal with.
"León, ¿qué pasó?" she asked as she finally looked at Leon's face and saw an expression that looked like a question. Was it really that surprising? She and James went riding on occasion and while they never really sat with each other at lunch, her repeated interaction with James was nothing knew.
