Performances: Victoria & Davian (Contemporary)
Victoria and Davian only spoke to each other when they practiced. Otherwise the two generally avoided each other. They were the last performance of the night, and so most of the time Victoria spent either in the green room double checking her outfit or hanging around the edge of the stage to see how others did. Davian was around somewhere, being his usual obnoxious self and before they took the stage she tore off that stupid sparkly pink headband and tossed it aside. For once he didn't argue with her, but likely because he was being shoved onto the stage after her by their teacher. There was already tension between the two of them as they took their positions and waited for the music to start.
Both the song and the dance for their performance were contemporary. The great dislike they had for each other was easily used as fuel for their performance. Each turn was done flawlessly, as was each twist, motion, and even flick of the wrist. While the two absolutely despised each other, it was clear that they were ideal dance partners. They worked well together, following with the same rhythm and flow, and even holding the right amount of tension that came off as sensuality. The two were evenly matched in various ways, but only when it came to dance.
By the time the song finished, there was a half a heartbeat before the thunderous applause kicked in. It was clear that they were one of the best, if not the best performance of the night. But while the dance ended with the two of them standing close to each other, almost close enough to kiss, they were a distance apart when they took their bows. Then it was off the stage before they joined the others for a final bow, but weren't standing anywhere near other.
The performance was over and the rest of the semester the two could work individually if they wanted. That's, at least, what their teacher said, and Victoria breathed a sigh of relief.
