Winding Hallways: Sorin, Alex, & Open
"Very shitty," Sorin agreed with a nod, tugging the sleeve back down. He'd learned English curse words and liked to employ them when the adults weren't around.
"Using priests, even scientists and scholars. They try to cure magic like a disease. Those people, they are a poor representation of the church, not all who practice are like them, I know this. But still. I am not so interested. Maybe I turn to Buddhism." He smiled at Alex briefly and then gestured down the hall for them to walk and talk. The hunt wouldn't wait for a chat, and the movement would help him keep his head above water.
"We get away by skipping the sedative at night. Taking a placebo instead. The staff at my old school look only for behavior to be bad to show those who are not on their dose, so we fake it instead. "There, we could not believe we were free. Some of us could not believe it so much that their excitement caused their power to kick in. The village almost burned to the ground. A wizard came, a good man, and collected us for protection. He sent us here. One day, I will go back there and save the rest of my brothers and sisters."
