Going with Davian into town when he met his parole officer wasn't a weekly occurrence, but it happened once or twice that she learned the routine pretty fast. She waited inside the police station, texting her mother pictures and telling her about how Kana's mother was now a teacher at the school. Her mother knew, of course, but she hoped that maybe her mother would consider coming to the school too. That way Jae could have both the school and her mother as well. But her mother was planning her wedding and they both knew Jae's time spent away from her mother was better.
Davian was always in a bad mood after meeting with his parole officer though, but Jae knew that some OJ would improve his mood. It wasn't really a secret weapon, as Davian acknowledged his love for it constantly. She was finishing her fries when Davian started telling her about what the parole officer said to him that put him in a particularly bad mood.
The mention of a job reminded Jae of part of the reason she wanted to come into town. Her mother suggested that Jae get a job and it might help. Professor Hallowfen said it was a good idea as well, so Jae was going to grab some applications while in town. She blinked at Davian and said, "There are plenty of jobs that use delegation. But you have to work your way into that position most of the time."
She then paused and looked at him, "How do you know you're not worker material?"
