Andrei's weight shifted off of him and Leon remained tense, waiting for what might come next, whether it be Andrei trying to run again or another attack. The turmoil of emotions in his sire made it difficult to follow what exactly he was going to do. Andrei had always been unpredictable, but Leon had always been prepared - almost always. The older vampire didn't run and Leon was glad and relieved. Progress.
He turned his head and met Andrei's look, searching his blue eyes as he spoke and the two vampires laid side by side. He swallowed and nodded, a sense of resolved tension easing from him. If Andrei didn't think that little of him, then that was all that mattered to Leon. No one else's opinion was as important as his sire's.
Leon gave a small smile and turned to his side to reach out and gently, with familiarity of ownership with acceptance behind the move, cupped Andrei's strong jaw against his hand and stroked his thumb over his cheekbone. Thank you. Leon's eyes said.
