Leon resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the other vampire. It was always about that with Andrei. Always about survival and being the hunters, not the prey. Leon knew why his sire was like that, and he wanted to do well, learn from him, realizing he had only a year before they were both out of the relative safety of the school. But sometimes he wanted to catch some slack, have a night off from the criticism and sometimes strenuous training Andrei put him through.
Instead of responding with a petulant comment, Leon just nodded and gave a small shrug, putting his hands in his jacket pockets when Andrei took the bag from him. "I wasn't really thinking about it, you're right." He shifted his feet and moved to sit down on a pile of lumber Andrei had stacked nearby to cut to give him some space to drink. And to not watch him while standing so close.
"What? No." Leon said a little too closely together when Andrei spoke again. "What are you talking about?"
