Micah let out a long sigh and picked up the mug, butting his hip against the counter as he lifted the rim to his lips and sipped. It was good coffee, though any kind would have been the most delicious coffee on the planet just then. He didn't even use any sugar or cream this time, taking it black.
"The spiders. You know what I'm talking about." He turned and came to sit across from her at the table, not believing her that she was not to blame. It wasn't just a coincidence. It was only Ladon House affected and all the others were spider free. Micah hadn't been waiting for Cressida to get even, not really. She hadn't gotten even, as it were, from the scare he'd given her on the lighthouse, so Kaden wasn't too worried. But this just smelled of revenge. And the bear had a good nose.
"Alright," he leaned over the table, braced on his elbows with the warm mug between his calloused fingers. "But maybe if you hear about someone planting spider bait in my House, you could ask them nicely to remove it so innocent bystanders don't get caught in the crosshairs of a payback scheme."
Warm brown eyes - albeit a bit bloodshot from a long night and strong smelling pesticides - narrowed at her and he finally gave a low chuckle, drinking from the coffee again. "I gotta hand it to you, though," he shook his head, "I mean, to whoever is behind this. Unique. Skillful. Nearly untraceable."
