Kaden looked very frazzled. He'd not had the chance to trim his beard since last Friday and it was growing a little wild, making him look more like a mountain man that he normally did, and his hair, normally combed at least, looked as though he'd been pulling it out all night. And he was.
With the spider invasion to Ladon House came a long restless night for its Head. Screams had alerted him that something was wrong and upon inspection, it was revealed why. The long legged arachnids were everywhere, on everything, in everything, and no room was left without a gathering of hundreds or thousands of the creepy crawlies. Students had been in a frenzy to get rid of them, and Kaden had to stop some of them from taking drastic measures, including turning on the fire sprinklers in an attempt to drown them out and even some had tried to use actual fire and smoke to clear the dorm building.
Instead, forced to do something, Kaden had given instructions to use mild homemade (quickly made) pesticides that were sprayed in each room to kill the spiders or drive them out. Ladonites made rounds for the rest of the night, shirts tied around their mouths to keep from breathing in the pungent fumes of the mixture, and finally, as Monday morning came, the spider count started to dwindle.
Ladon had given his House members a late pass to class and then had come to his own, deciding coffee was needed if he was going to make it through the rest of the day without really losing his patience on someone. That or falling asleep at his own desk.
He didn't notice when the other staff members left the room at his entrance, but if he had, he would not have blamed them. Kaden looked like a real bear who had been woken from his slumber and was not in the mood. For anything.
Kaden shifted a glance at Cressida when she spoke, pouring coffee from the fresh pot into his white mug. "Hm?" he grunted. "Oh." He stopped pouring and braced his thick arms on the counter, taking a slow deep breath. "Cress, I get the message. Call off your spiders, please. I can't take another night like that."
